Hodge is the third actor to portray Cross
Chronology
A TV adaptation of James Patterson’s novel about the complex and brilliant detective Alex Cross. He followed in the footsteps of Morgan Freeman, who first portrayed him on screen in 1997’s Kiss the Girls and again in the 2001 sequel Along Came a Spider; and Tyler Perry as the title character in 2012’s Alex Cross, which bombed at the box office and led Lionsgate to scrap a previously planned sequel to Double Cross. First of all, it’s a good, solid serial killer.
With Luther, you get that
So I got that out of the way. I think it’s Luther’s bad cousin from the UK with Idris Elba, though. Both he and Cross are said to have exceptional psychological analysis skills.
Not with Cross
There are only two times in eight episodes where he does the full "Spideysense" and offers analysis that others simply don’t see. Also, the acting of some of the main characters is inconsequential. Their scenes just don’t do justice to the great acting of the main characters.
And the last point is Iasiah Mustafa
In this show, he is the image of Andy Farrell, the coach of the Irish rugby team. One is black and the other is white, but man, the resemblance is incredible! Enjoyable performance, but I think Luther does it better.
