Definitions

Modern Slavery encompasses slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labor, bonded and child labor, and human trafficking. Human trafficking is defined as transporting, recruiting, or harboring people for the purpose of exploitation, using violence, threats, or coercion.

Responsibilities

  • Management: Responsible for creating and maintaining an open environment where concerns about modern slavery can be raised without fear of retaliation.
  • Employees and Contractors: Expected to report any concerns about modern slavery practices within the company or supply chain.
  • HR Department: Ensures robust recruitment processes in line with UK employment laws, and conducts due diligence on suppliers and contractors.

Commitments

  • We will ensure transparency within the organization and with our suppliers of goods and services.
  • We will undertake due diligence when taking on new suppliers and regularly review our existing suppliers.
  • Our recruitment processes are transparent and reviewed regularly. We do not charge fees for employment and ensure all work is voluntary.
  • We provide training to relevant members of staff to ensure they understand the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains and our business.

Compliance

Employees must ensure that they read, understand, and comply with this policy. The violation of this policy will result in disciplinary action, which could result in dismissal for misconduct or gross misconduct. We may terminate our relationship with other individuals and organizations working on our behalf if they breach this policy.

Reporting

We aim to encourage openness and will support anyone who raises genuine concerns in good faith under this policy, even if they turn out to be mistaken. We are committed to ensuring no one suffers any detrimental treatment as a result of reporting in good faith their suspicion that modern slavery is taking place in any part of our own business or in any part of our supply chain.
