Policy Statement

Infinite Healthcare Services is committed to protecting the health, well-being, and rights of our clients and staff. We believe that every individual has the right to live free from abuse, neglect, and harm. This policy sets out our approach to preventing and addressing any instances of abuse or neglect that may arise within our operations.

Scope

This policy applies to all staff, whether employed, contracted, or voluntary, as well as to any other persons working on behalf of Infinite Healthcare Services.

Definitions

  • Safeguarding: The measures we take to protect the health, well-being, and human rights of individuals, which allow people—especially children, young people, and vulnerable adults—to live free from abuse, harm, and neglect.
  • Vulnerable Adult: Any person aged 18 or over who is, or may be, in need of community care services by reason of mental or other disability, age or illness, and who is, or may be, unable to take care of themselves, or unable to protect themselves against significant harm or exploitation.
  • Child: Anyone who has not yet reached their 18th birthday.

Responsibilities

  • Senior Management is responsible for ensuring that the safeguarding policy is implemented and followed.
  • All Staff are responsible for following the guidelines set out in this policy and for reporting any safeguarding concerns.
  • Designated Safeguarding Officer has the specific responsibility for coordinating safeguarding efforts and responding to any safeguarding concerns that staff or clients report.

Guidelines and Practices

  • Training: All staff will receive training on safeguarding at the start of employment and will receive regular updates to ensure they are aware of the latest best practices and procedures.
  • Reporting: Staff are required to report any concerns about a client’s safety or well-being immediately to the Designated Safeguarding Officer.
  • Response: All reports of safeguarding issues will be taken seriously, recorded in detail, and treated with confidentiality. Appropriate actions will be taken to investigate and address the concerns.
  • Review: Safeguarding practices and procedures will be regularly reviewed to ensure they remain effective and appropriate.

Partnerships

We will work closely with other organizations, including local authorities, healthcare providers, and the police, to protect those who are vulnerable to abuse or neglect.
